Master the Faug Chord on Guitar: Interactive Practice

The F augmented chord, written Faug, is spelled F, A and C#: the root, major third and raised fifth.

A scale that covers every chord tone is the F whole-tone scale, which is where to start when you improvise. None of the 3 voicings uses an open string, so every one is fretted, one of them with a barre. Several jazz progressions are laid out step by step if you want to hear it in context.
